Two days after our last visitors left, our next ones arrived! Our best friends Tom and Sarah came to stay with us for just under two weeks and it was brilliant. Hiking Lake Garibaldi

Yesterday we finally achieved something that we’ve wanted to do since deciding to move to Canada. We finally hiked to Lake Garibaldi! Our hiking plan originally was to start out with small hikes and then build the difficulty up to the 18 km round trip to Lake Garibaldi. Yesterday (Sunday) was Nick’s birthday, so we planned a whole weekend of nice activities. Friday night we cooked a pizza, and took it and some drinks down to Kitsilano Beach to enjoy the sunshine! Drinking alcohol in public is illegal here, and you can get fined about $230 if you are caught. They DO patrol the beaches here and take it quite seriously, so bear that in mind!
