The Final Countdown…

Well I can’t believe we are back here again, preparing to do a massive move to another country. And we feel…exactly the same as we did this time last year! As I mentioned in my last post, we are feeling a bit numb about it at the moment. I have moments of being really excited about seeing people and being back in the UK (hello UK chocolate, tea bags, cheese, and heinz beans & sausages!) But then also moments of being quite upset...

I left my heart in San Francisco

Posted by on Mar 10, 2014 in General, Trips | 6 comments

Last week was our last one at work, and it was a bit emotional! Regardless of our reasons for going back to the UK, we have made some good friends here and I personally can say that I’ve never worked with so many lovely people all at once, so I was very sad on my last day. I had a leaving lunch with everyone from the office, my boss gave me a gorgeous necklace and bracelet as a leaving present, and I had leaving drinks with people on my...

43 days to go!

Posted by on Feb 3, 2014 in General, Sport, Vancouver | 2 comments

I was going to call this post ’6 weeks to go’, but I thought I’d work out how many days it actually was until we moved back to the UK. As I’m crap with maths, I just Googled ‘how many days until 18th March 2014′, and I was pretty shocked to see that it’s only 43 days! I can’t believe we’ve been here nearly a year, and I also can’t believe that in a little over 6 weeks, we’ll be...

Snowboarding, San Francisco, and a big ring!

Posted by on Jan 21, 2014 in General, Trips, Vancouver | 0 comments

I’ve wanted to go snowboarding for as long as I can remember. I’ve only been skiing once when I was about 16, at Killington in Vermont for a school ski trip. It was bloody amazing and I loved it, but for some reason I have never been again, even though I’ve wanted too. Natalie has skied before, on some dry slopes in Scotland, probably around the same time. I imagine we were both a bit more fearless back then. I also...

Winter in Vancouver

Posted by on Jan 7, 2014 in Vancouver | 4 comments

Since our last blog post (I know, it was ages ago!), quite a lot has happened! We’ve been holding off on the blog post for a while as we’ve been deciding what to do in regards to staying in Vancouver longer or coming home in March. But I’ll come to that later! The lead up to Christmas here was quite exciting, albeit a little weird for us not being around familiarity (my god I missed Boots 3 for 2 on gifts this year!!) The city...

Sleepless in Seattle

Posted by on Nov 13, 2013 in Things To Do, Trips, Vancouver | 0 comments

Last weekend we finally ventured south of the border to Seattle! It’s our anniversary this month, so to celebrate we planned a little trip away. We got the 6:30 am train on Saturday morning and it was brilliant! It only cost $30 each and all the customs/immigration stuff is done in Vancouver at the station, so there’s no faffing around at the border. When we first got into Seattle we realised quickly how similar it is to Vancouver,...

One year on

Posted by on Oct 17, 2013 in General | 0 comments

On this day one year ago Natalie posted our first blog post. One year, and fifty three posts later, here we are in Vancouver. I thought it would be interesting to look back over the last year and see how many people have actually taken an interest in what we had to say. The results are quite impressive, if I do say so myself! In total we have had 10,108 visits (3,000 or so are probably Natalie and I), from 5,089 unique visitors. Over 5,000...
